so today was the first real day fo the zien symposium. it went rather well. yesterday i showed so visiters around a bit and then went to jillian's to help cook but i felt useless cause things had already been doneand i didn't have a plan. i sat around and tried to get out of the way.
jillian said i should go to sewing circle. and i stupidly asked what they do... knowing full well that sewin circles imply gossip. she said sew, knit and gossip of course. i tried to explain how uncomfortable that makes me. i feel so out of sorts with the zien symposium girls sometime. i think joe gets along better with them than i do. i don't feel comfortable talking about other people cause i wouldn't want them to talk about me. i don't care if people are shit talking or not it just doesn't seem right so when the conversation steers that way i walk out of the room or find something else to pay attention to. thresa told me she could tell i liked to gossip cause she must know everything. she is a funny giel. very spirited, flirty and playful yet in love with jillian who seems rather grounded. sometimes i think jillian donesn't like some of the things i say. i'm not sure if it how i say them or what they seem to imply or maybe i am just readign into things... you know all those damn online journal kids are crazy and mine told me i'm paranoid...joe could have told me that with out taking a test. then again i wouldn't believe him.
so anyway no need for me to talk about others.
the zien prom was awesome. elenore handled the bumps beautifully and refrained for calling the security gaurd "buster" she said one of the silliest out of context quotes "we just want to talk and eat cooking" in the face of them not wanting us to have a zine prom due to that horrible dancng part that needs security gaurds for some reason. oh well. anyway the prom was great the cindy lauper cover band was great the silly poloroid pictures were great. i met tons of people nd had my hand made (also called the "boob dress" by lindsay) dress complimented.
so today i did a what is a zine workshop and it went over pretty well it is odd to think about how i got into zines and the things i take for granted. steve had a lot of good stuff to say about distros and lisa was there too.

lisa has her part done and steve needs to do some sizing and he will be done. i want our zine out this weekend sooooo bad. i'm glad i have the little one out now at least
so there was a pretty good turn out. i met a lot of people and got a lot of great zines in trade. we got rid of our first 225 programs and that seems like a good start. sarah told me ther were more than the santa barbara zine con. that is a good sign.
i bought a copy of gynomite (feminist porn) that should be pretty interesting. and i bought my sister a present too. i wanted to get her a shirt with a squirrel on it but it went pretty fast.
lots of other good stuff went on but i m really tired and my back hurts tons so i need to crawl into bed with joey and fall asleep. he didn't sleep last night so he crashed already. he didn't even protest to taking to bus home. he fell asleep durring the film screening as we were watching good grief.
