Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001 - 4:26 p.m. there was a very different feeeling up in seattle. it was a feeling of fear and dread. we got to town at the lunch hour as people were filling hte downtown streets. webs decided it probablly wasn't the best idea to try to go to the federal building to get her new pastport that day. we waited by the ferries for her friend to bring her the extra keys to her apartment and i saw redneck jerks yelling as middleeastern cabbies. it made me so sick. i wanted to do something. i didn't know what to do besides smile when i walked by. i hate it when i am embarassed by stupid americans...it used to only happen when i was out of the country. i also saw a site that i'm not sure how i felt about. there was a business looking guy standing on a street corner waving an american flag and holding a sign that said "i don't hate arabs" i guess he was voicing what many people feel. it was just strange nd could have been worded better but i was happy that some one was doing something so i waved at him as we went by. i saw shane and mox and drank coffee with them like old times and complained about that feeling you get in your stomach when you are gettign close to salt lake as you drive into utah. it was odd how we all related. webs and i both didn't sleep well and got up at 7 to clean her room and check out of the house... actually we were woken up to rush week and stupid sorority pledge girls screaming songs about their pseudo greek traditions.i had to go by and laugh at them they looked so silly. webs also gave me copies of her new 'touched by and anvil'and it is really good a usual. i wish i had the words to describe the feelings i have for this situation. but i'll leave that up to other people with more eloquence.-alex
