Monday, Sept. 24, 2001 - 12:13 a.m.

i took a few day vacation. a real one with no buttons to make. no zines to cut fold collate or staple. i went to the beach with joe and our housemate eric and his gilrfriend cassandra. we went to the sandcastle competition in seaside. then we were looking for an abandoned house in cannon beach that we were told about but ended up camping on a wodded cliff overlooking the beautiful oregon coast with the sound of the ocean below us. we cooked tofu dogs and i drank a six pack pumpkin ale. it sounds weird but it is really really good. it has all the yummy spices of pumpkin pie and it gets you drunk. i hadn't drank in a whil but i couldn't stop drinking cause i hadn't had pumpkin ale in two years but i wasn't too drunk and i did rather well for not drinking in awhile. joe went to bed early and i practiced my social skills that seem to wax as i drink when i am usually so anti in person and i get frustrated when my words don't come out right.

it was nice to talk to eric and cassandra. i like tham a lot. eric is going to take pictures at our wedding.

the next day i got up early and went picking blackberries that were everywhere. i had never been able to do that, pick berries while camping. then we went down to the beach and played in caves and watched tide pools and played with everyone else's puppies.

i came home and took a bath and rode downtown to scam copies while joe went to role playing group. we walked halfway home and talked. i always love the nights we do that. unfortunately my feet were in shoes that are a bit too small and they weren't very happy about it.

so now i'm listening to the murder city devils and thinking about how the first time i saw them was in the basement of DV8 in utah and i was getting a boy drunk in the bar so i could beat him up while durring the next band's set. back in the day... -alex
