hey! i made it to berkeley even though bob's friend lois who drove us form davis is a fucking crazy driver.
it turns out that she and her friend had gone to lisa's upstairs neighbors before and guys were shootign bottle rockets out of their dicks. lisa and josh weren't home and we hung out with the bottle rocket penis guys and heir friends who i remembered from my other trip down here. josh got home and gave the end of a carlo rosi jug then we talked for awhile and hen joe and i fell asleep on the couch.
the next day we got up arly to go to lauren's cut and paste fun party in her new house. she has a copy machine and tons of cool stuff to play with. i made pancakes for everyone and tofu scrabler. it was a little early to be cutting and pasting for me. they all talked about hte hell of the next gilman meeting cause there was tons of shit they had to talk about including green day hopping on the stage and billie joe getting 86ed for drinking in the bathroom.lauren made me an awesome patch that says "lauren and sean from the gilman zine store love me" i was honored"
then lisa and this kid ben and joe and josh and i all went to someone's birthday where there were all these aging punks drinking and singing kareoke. we boughta fifth of whiskey and a couple of 20 0z. of JOLT to pour it in. it was fun but i always feel silly when i am drinking when it is still light out.
lisa stayed and joe and josh and i went home ot eat before we headed to gilman. at gilman it was rock night or something, beign slightly drunk made it more bareable with al lthe bands that resembled 70's rock in some way. i really don't get that blend of music especially cause of the music i first started getting into as a kid is totally anti glam. i guess it was fun to hang out with everyone. i put more of my zines at the gilman store. they pay you 100% and it is so rad. plus lauren who runs it is such a sweet girl. after hte show they drug a couch and bowling balls and pins out to bowl down 8th street. that was amusign but i was really tired and did mostly watching.
yesterday ben and joe and lisa and i drove around and went record shopping. i found a dead or alive record for super cheap and a cheap morrissey single on vinly. viva ameoba! i also found soem cool new clothes in people's park. joe got a bobby joe ebola and hte chicken mcnuggets shirt in the free box there too. oh ya, and we went to the oakland flea market and i saw lots of stuff i would by if i was at home. i need t find out where the flea market is in portland. lisa bought a film projector and we watched old movies that she found in the UC berkeley trash. we put a big piece of paper up on her copy machine "bobby taylor" and used it for a screen. super fun
today we went to the land fill and saw all the awesoem art there. joe hasn't been to the east bay before so he is gettign the tour. we are going to the city tomorrow we think. who knows. we need to call someone to be a guide for us. i think tonight we are going to the "free bar" that means one of lisa's friends works there and we get free drinks n stuff.mmmm. we are also planning another beer hunt at adventure playground.
i'm not sure when i am going ot be able to write here again. we are heading through sact and davis on our way back home on the 13th. i hope to see lindsay while i am there.-alex
