well...joe survived both families. before we left for my uncle's house my sister sat joe in front of a family picture making him remember the names of my 4 uncles and all of their children. she was showing old wedding pictures of and making him guess. we also got my dad's sisters into the guessing. some they had not seen since my parents wedding 27 years ago that was actually at the house my uncle now lives in and my grandparents used to lvie in. my mom's side is more annoying that my dad's. having them all in one room was crazy with like 30 people and kids and a pinata and food that us vegans couldn't eat. my aunt seemed to think i wanted to talk about my wedding in a girlie girlie way. i didn't. one of my uncles told joe a story about how people think he is gay because he wears leather pants and he is a florist. that sure makes him fit in with us... durring the 80's he had the whole don johnson look with the mullet, t-shirt with white sports coatand got profiled by the FBI as a drug runner coming back from hawaii where he worked. he is nice.
that was christmas eve. that side of the family celebrates then. my dad's side celebrates on christmas day. we usually drink champain and orage juice but i think my mom was too hung over to mention it. she made an ass of herself the night before. webs and i woke up and went downstairs and woke up joe who they made sleep on the couch. we checked our stocking and waiting for the grownups to emerge before we opened presents and then went to see the lord of the rings.
that movie was soooo amazing. it had goose bumps seeing the words i have read come alive on a screen in ways that i had imagined.
i tried on my mother's wedding dress and it fits me reall ywell and it is just a little long. it is really beautiful muslin with lace and it is off white with a small trane (sp?). my dad said i looked like arwen or something.
so we are back at our house now. we still don't have heat and we have a "comfort specialist" coming tomorrow to help us choose a new furnace cause ours is kaput. sux hu? furnaces are expensive. so if anyone was thinking about ordering buttons or anything else from the distro at www.microcosmpublishing.com now is a great time to help us pay for a new furnace. we'll be alright it just kinda depletes us. we have been sleeping sownstairs by the fire and stealing wood from teh construction site across the street. they convienently cut them in the perfect size.
i cleaned the kitchen and reorganized stuff in there too. it looks nice. joe and also cleaned the living room and upstairs bathroom before my aunt's and grandmother came over on their way back to seattle.
i just finished the 4th harry potter book and i liked it very much.my mom jsut got here ane we are going to go shopping for food. so i'll write more later.-alex
