so microcosm seems to be doing well with me at the helm....kind of. things have actually been kind of slow. have i been scaring people off with my fine tuning of the FAQ page? were my camments too snarky?
there is lots of new (and back in stock even the dirty south cook zine!) stuff in the catalog. i have been really good at staying on top of taking stuff out when it is out. go check out www.microcosmpublishing.com and see if there is something that you want.
we also now have a way to track postage on the orders that are done online. it is relaly neat to just be able to check them off on the database and they show up as sent. the only problem is that we can't manually put in things that were done through mail order but, really, when are the people who mail order going to check the internet for their order beign shipped out? maybe they would. who knows.
joe and i leave town monday for eugene. we will be teaching a class on zines at the university of oregon. it will be fun. they are paying for everything from our train ride to a swank bed and breakfast on 13th to per diems for food. it is silly that they would hire two college drop outs to go to a university and talk about zines. it iwll be nice to go to eugene. i guess i haven't been there in about a year. it will be strange to realize that my sister doesn't live there anymore.
dave's book "on subbing" went to the printer yesterday. i'm excited for it to come back. i'm sure lots of other people are too.
next saturday i leave for utah for a few days to see a friend's band play their last show. it should be nice to get away before joe leaves for plan-it-x festand i'm stuck pretty much doing microcosm on my own again. i think i can handle it this time. i'm all sorts of ready for it.
