LIMITED AMOUNT OF BRAINSCAN BACK ISSUES. LAST TIME EVER FOR SOME OF THEM!

I have a limited amount of back issues of brainscan and other minis i have done. they have been sitting around in a box so i may as well get rid of them. some are extremely limited (like only one copy left) here's what i have in reverse chronological order with a short description:

*birthdays & christmas/faking distance $2, 48 pages, quarter legal, autumn 2004. split with korinna irwin. i'm really proud of this zine, especially since it took a weeo in the making: writing, editing, layout and copies. lots of anectdotal stories and observations.
crickets
*crickets as a metaphor $1, complicated structure involving a folder, envelope, and multiple printing tecniques. summer 2004. this was a mini made for the portland zine symposium exploring uncomfortable silences and the thoughts that bounce around my head. limited to 250
stolen sharpie
*Stolen sharpie revolution: a DIY zine resource $3 second edition, 128 pages perfect bound book. winter 2004. just what the sub titl says "a DIY zine resource" with lots of tips, suggestions, and crafty ideas including listings for zine libraries, distros and more. we are down to the last case of these in the second edition and the third will be out as soon as i get some time to work on it.
brainscan 20

*Brainscan #20 summer 2003, $2, 64 pages, offset printed, 1/4 sized, This zine is about reflection and synthesis of location and it's effect on the human condition. It's full of stories that fit nicely into a venn diagram. There are stories about me living in Utah, stories about living in Portland, and stories that merge the two; illuminating that Utah always finds me or that i always managing to find it. Other themes are home and place through stories about personal ghosts, lost friendship, late night adventures, a coffeeshop, heartache, drinking, and the untimely demise of my bicycle, Jamie; exploring the connections between cyclists and the city streets they love.

*brainscan #19 winter 2002/2003 $2, 64 pages, offset printed, half comic. An introspective look at July of 2002; including writing on the planning of the Portland Zine Symposium, the IPRC's high school zine camp, and the actual event of the Zine Symposium. A weekend full of houseguests, communication, connection and late night porch sessions. It also includes volunteering at the Rock 'N'Roll camp for girls where i helped teach workshops on zines. This zine also contains reflections on zine community involvement and evolution over the years, thoughts on the guerilla mental health awareness workshop at the Zine Symposium.

*brainscan #18 summer 2002, $2 64 pages, 1/8th legal. Contains more thoughts about marriage, interpretations of life, androgeny, thoughts on feminism, age, stories of travel, punk rock love, and the usual musings and reflections on relationships. A collection of punk filtered ramblings. A literary format telling stories from a girl with too many typewriters. Demonstrates a lot of real life experience and Alex Wrekk draws from old stories to make good points.

*brainscan #15 summer 2001, $1 two tiny 1/16th sized zines "suspended like a star" and "cigarettes as currency" with vellum covers tucked into a pocket sized envelope. stories and feelings shown through words and images documenting endings, beginings, revelations and change.

*brainscan #13 $2, 64 pages, 1/4 sized, block printed cover, summer 2000 travel, moving, heart ache, out of context quotes, portland, bikes, may day 2000, punk rock love, zine reviews, includes "interstate-80" a one shot about travel, also a piece about going back to utah to see discount on their last tour.

*brainscan #12 1/4 sized spring 2000 50 cents "documenting the rain" copied out of a little notebook, stories about portland, love, observations, out of context quotes and a secret admirer.

*Brainscan #11 ¼ legal, $1, December 1999, split with eyecandy #14, first issues of brainscan in Portland. Musings about writings, strangers at a bus stop, out of context quotes, an out of context kiss.

*Brainscan #7 ***I only have three of these and they are REALLY old and NOTHING like other issues*** half sized, $1, summer/fall of 1998, a train trip to Denver, nervous anticipations, out of context quotes, and story about visiting Portland from utah for my 21st birthday.

*Brainscan #1-6 comp issue, $1, ½ sized, 1997-1998, *****I only have three of these as well. this zine is really really and might be embarrassing if I took the time to look inside and actually read I, but I can’t bring my self to toss these in the garabaget******pseudo-intellectual ramblings from when I was a philosophy major and a Christian. Lots of silly stories, musings about utah, a theory about why drummers want to take over the world and other crap.
